The Analysis Properties Window is displayed if you select Node and then Properties from the Main Menu when you have the Analysis Hierarchy selected. You can also open the Analysis Properties Window by double-clicking on any Analysis node. The Analysis Properties Window is a multi-paged workscreen that presents the properties of the selected node. Some menu items are present only for certain levels of Analysis nodes.
Job and Task Analysis Activities gives more in-depth information on analysis activities.
See the Analysis Workscreen Overview for specific details for each page.
Common Menu Items discusses the common pages that all hierarchy nodes share.
These are the level names available in the Analysis Hierarchy as well as a list of the properties that can be associated with each of these nodes. Click on the link to see details about each properties page.

The General page is always present on the Analysis Window, for all types of Analysis nodes. On this page you can enter the description of the node in the Text box (this will be displayed in the hierarchy). Optionally you can also do the following:
•Mark the node as "Critical" (Tasks, Sub-Tasks, and Elements).
•Uncheck the "This Task is ready to appear" box.
•Mark the node as "Must Perform" (Tasks, Sub-Tasks, and Elements).
•Review or change the node's Project.
•Add comments.
•Add a User-Defined ID.
•Add a Cross Reference Number (this field is not associated with VISION'S Cross Reference system).
Refer to the chapter, “Job and Task Analysis Activities,” for more detailed instructions on this page.
The Selection menu item is only displayed for Analysis nodes at the Task and Sub-Task levels. This page contains training information. Here you can:
•Set the tasks's training status and frequency.
•Set the tasks's D-I-F data.
Refer to “Selecting Tasks for Training and Retraining” for more detailed instructions on this menu item.
The Conditions page displays a list of conditions for the Task, Sub-Task, or Element.
Refer to the chapter, “Job and Task Analysis Activities,” for more detailed instructions on this menu item.
The "Edit Current Condition" pane is only active when the New or Edit buttons are clicked.
The Standards menu page displays a list of standards for the Task, Sub-Task, or Element.
Refer to the chapter, “Job and Task Analysis Activities,” for more detailed instructions on this menu item.
The "Edit Current Standard" pane is activated when the New or Edit buttons are clicked.
The Procedures page is displayed for Analysis nodes at the Task, Sub-Task, and Element levels. Enter the steps, or procedure, that are necessary to complete this task.
Refer to the chapter, “Job and Task Analysis Activities,” for more detailed instructions on this menu item.
You can add RTF templates to the Procedures page.
The OJT Notes page is displayed for Analysis nodes at the Task, Sub-Task, and Element levels. Enter any notes to assist the trainer in standardizing the On-the-Job training associated with this node.
You can add RTF templates to the OJT Notes page.
The Analysis page is only displayed for Tasks and Sub-Task. The window on this menu item shows the task and its subordinates. Here you can:
•Perform a Task Analysis in this window. You are simply editing a portion of the hierarchy through this window, so all changes made to the partial hierarchy in this window will be reflected in the full Workbench hierarchy as well.
•Set the status of the Task to "Completed" or take it out of "Completed" status.
Any changes you make in the Task Analysis window are permanent. Clicking the Cancel button at the bottom of the Analysis menu item will NOT undo any changes that are made.
If a task has a status of "Completed", you will not get a version versioning icon
on the Analysis page. Here, you will only see analysis nodes as they were when the task was approved.
The DIF Survey Comments page is only displayed for Tasks. The window on this menu item shows any comments entered about the task during a DIF survey. Here you can view DIF Survey comments.
The Qualifications page appears only on Task nodes. This menu item displays the qualifications that include this task and a list of the personnel qualified on the task. Here you can:
•Select a method of qualification and frequency.
•See qual cards with this task.
•See who is qualified on the task.
•Open Qualification Properties.
•Set a Task Change Impact.
Note that this feature can be turned on and off for projects in VISION Security, so it may not be available.
We do not recommend adding questions to Skill & Knowledge analysis hierarchy nodes as they can lead to trouble and confusion for your VISION database down the road. These questions are typically used as suggestions for JPM evaluators in the field or they might be shared with the objectives that the analysis nodes are sequenced into.
For general information on the questions page, see Questions.
