If you are using the VISION Learning Station to publish content online, there will be a few extra steps that you need to take. These are outlined in this segment.
Set up Courses Publish Online for the VISION Learning Station
In the "Web Based Learning Content Modules" window on the Content page, there are two checkboxes with similar names: "Deliverable" and "Deliver."
•Deliverable: This indicates that the content is ready for learners, but not necessarily that it will be given to them. Marking content as "Deliverable" means that a content object is eligible for selection, so do not mark unfinished content this way. Once content is "Deliverable" you can select it for support material (such as remediation questions or with qualification cards), for lesson content, or for both.
•Deliver: Check this box to present this material to learners in the VISION Learning Station. Note that this 'Deliver' checkbox ONLY applies when this objective is presented as support material outside of a lesson, such as question remediation and qualification cards. To select content for lessons, you must check the 'Deliver' checkbox on the training unit's Design page.
The learning station can only deliver a few types of content, so having a Word or PowerPoint document in VISION is not enough. When you have completed your content in Word or PowerPoint, you must convert it to HTML or MP4 Video before you can deliver it. From the Word Actions or PowerPoint Actions drop-down menus, select "Convert... to HTML" or "Convert to MP4 Video".
In order to deliver content to the VISION Learning Station, the objective that contains the content must have a status of "Content Approved". To change an objective's status, click on the General page, and click the Status drop-down menu. Select the bold "Content Approved" status from the drop-down menu and click the OK button to save your changes.
Use these optional settings to enhance your VISION Learning Station lessons.
•Introduction or Summary: You can add an Introduction and/or a summary to a lesson. The Introduction will appear at the start of the lesson, while the Summary will appear that the end.
•Transition: A "Transition Statement" is a sentence or short paragraph that will appear between objectives in the VISION Learning Station. Enter these to move the learners from one objective to another.
•Holds : A "Hold" will pause the learner's progress in a self-paced lesson until the instructor turns it off in the VISION Learning Station. The instructor will have to turn the hold off for each learner in order for them to proceed with this lesson content. To set a hold, click on the checkbox and then enter the message that learners will see when they reach this point in the lesson.
•Deliver: The "Deliver" checkbox in the Training Unit marks the content that will be presented as part of the VISION Learning Station course. Note that this checkbox is distinct from the "Deliver" checkbox on the objective's Content page. If you don't see all of the content you expect from an objective, check the objective's content page to make sure that it is complete and marked "Deliverable".
•Assessment Profiles: You can add VLS Assessment Profiles to the training unit on the Tests page. Assessment profiles are necessary for exams in the VISION Learning Station, but not used in VISION Developer. If you do not have an appropriate assessment profile, or are not ready to add one to the training unit yet, you will be able to create and add them in the VISION Learning Station.
•Prerequisites: Use these to ensure that learners have the requisite skills to take a course.
In order to deliver content to the VISION Learning Station, the training unit that contains the objectives must have a status of "Completed-Active". To change an objective's status, click on the General page, and click the Development Status drop-down menu. Select the bold "Completed-Active" status from the drop-down menu and click the OK button to save your changes.
You must also set the Course organizer's (the parent of the training unit) Status to "Completed-Active" as well.
To use VISION Developer lesson in the Learning Station you must click the VLS Options menu on the training unit (available at the bottom of any page) and select, "Publish to VLS". You can do this after you have set the training unit's status to "Completed-Active".
