VISION content is developed for each Objective in the design hierarchy. Content is stored at the Objective level so that it can be easily found, edited, shared, and reused. After content is developed for an Objective, the Objective is considered an independent learning object. Training materials are generated for a training unit (TU) on demand, directly from the database. The independent learning objects sequenced into the TU Program object, as well as a Program-specific Introduction, are assembled into an outcome, the document containing the training material used to administer the lesson.
This guide will provide instructions on using the VCT and VOR to prepare content and generate outcomes in VISION. We recommend reading the entire Content Toolbar and Outcomes Report section before attempting to set up and generate an outcome of your own because of the variety and complexity of this feature. We have organized this guide in sequence with how we expect most users will proceed in generating documents with the VOR.
Overview: A little information on how the VCT and VOR operate.
Set up Documents in VISION: How you can prepare your VISION database before you even begin creating content.
Types of Content & Content Templates: How Content Types in the VOR and Content Templates in the VCT interact to make outcomes easy to create.
VISION Content Toolbar Controls: A description of how to use the VISION Content Toolbar to create content.
Adding media Objects: Additional items you can add to content though the Objective hierarchy.
Running the VISION Outcomes Report: Once you have content you can use it to generate outcomes with the VOR.
