VISION User Guide

The Color Attributes workscreen enables you to assign colors to hierarchy components according to selected attributes. Your selection of attributes will depend on what you wish to see or track while working in the Workbench. The available attributes will differ depending on the type of hierarchy that is active.

Each hierarchy window—Analysis, Objective and Program—has a different set of color attributes. To use Color Attributes, follow these steps.

TipWith some exceptions, you can't select multiple attributes because more than one of them might apply to the same hierarchy node. In that case, VISION would not know which color to use in displaying the node.

You Can Change the Default Color

The default colors are red and blue. These colors can be distinguished from each other, and from the color black (i.e., non-colored) easily on most monitors. You can change the default colors simply by clicking on the Color button and choosing an alternative color.

Steps to Color Hierarchy Nodes

1.First, select an activity from the Workbench menu on the Main Menu. This might open several different hierarchies, so activate the one you want by clicking on it. Each hierarchy has it's own color attributes menu.

a.For example, if you are performing Objective Design, both the Analysis and Objective hierarchies will open. To set Color Attributes for the Analysis Hierarchy, activate the window by clicking anywhere within its borders. To set Color Attributes for the Objective Hierarchy, activate it in the same way.

2.There are three ways to open the color attributes:

a.From the Workbench toolbar, click the Color Attributes button. WM Color Attributes

b.From the Main Menu, select Setup and then Color Attributes.

c.Click the right mouse button and from the pop-up menu, select Set Color Attributes.

2.Choose the Attributes that you want by clicking the appropriate buttons.

3.To change the default color of an Attribute, click the arrow to the right of the color and select your color from the provided spectrum.

4.Click OK to color the hierarchy nodes and close the attributes windows. Or click the Apply button to keep the attributes window open after the nodes are colored.
