Assessment Profile properties depend on the type of profile selected. Select the type of profile you are viewing and then choose the appropriate properties.
Click this button to delete this record. Note that you will not be able to delete an assessment once it has been assigned to a training unit.
Clicking this button will remove the assessment from the "Active" list and add it to the "Archived" list.
Once an assessment profile is marked as "approved", it can no longer be edited. This is to prevent an assessment from being changed while or after it is in use. Because it will need to be changed occasionally, you will be able to make a new version of an assessment instead of editing the old one. This will have all the information that the old assessment had, including any customized messages, but it will be editable and it will not be marked as "approved". After you have made changes and marked it as "approved", it will replace the old version of the assessment profile in any training unit that is not in an active course event. The assessment profiles being used in active course events will not be updated so that all learners in the course event will get the same assessment or exam.
Click the Edit button to change the profile's properties. A profile cannot be edited if it is marked as "approved", but you can create a new version.
Some of these properties are common to all assessments, but some are only available for specific ones.
In addition to editing assessment properties, you will also be able to edit Email Text and Exam Instructions.
When the profile is marked as Approved you will be able to assign it to training units, but you will no longer be able to edit it. You will, however, be able to create a new version of it if you need to correct a mistake or make a change.
This is the assessment profile name users will see in the VISION Developer module as well as VISION Learning Station.
This field is not editable once the profile has been created. This is the limit that was selected for a graded exam.
This is the amount of questions, time, or points that will be on the exam, depending on the type of Assessment. For points and time, VISION will select questions to get as close to the "target" number as possible, but may not be able to achieve the exact number for every exam.
This option is not available on Static Exam and Number of Question per Objective assessment profiles.
This field is not editable once the profile has been created.
Standard: The system will create a percentage score based on the points each question is worth.
Angoff: Questions are given a different percentage or decimal value depending on how difficult they are. This can be done in the "Num Field 2" on the General Info page of a question in VISION Developer. A lower value means that the question is harder to answer. If the field is left blank, VISION Learning Station will assume a 70% difficulty. This scoring method calculates the test's passing score based on the average value of all the questions, so a test with easy questions rated at 80 or 90 might set a high passing score of 85%.

A valid proctor session key will be required to be entered into the exam screen in order for the student to take the exam.
The system's remediation policy is set in Configuration -> Remediation. Profiles may either use the system default, or be permitted to use an alternate setting, set below.

This option is not available for Static Exam profiles.
In the VISION Developer module, questions have an optional property “Always select,” which can be set on the question’s General Info page. This option permits the instructional designer to designate questions which will always be selected and delivered on tests that are generated from a question pool.
•“Yes” forces questions marked “Always select” to be delivered on a dynamically generated VLS test. This can result in a test with more questions being delivered on it than are specified by the profile.
•“No” disregards the “Always select” property and will randomly select questions from an objective when generating the test.
This option is not available for Static Exam profiles.

Automatically send a learner's failed results to the learner's Supervisor (entered in the user's properties) in the event that the learner fails the exam.
These will only become available to edit after the profile is created, but before it is marked as "approved". Additionally, if a new version of a profile is created, the messages will carry over, so they do not have to be entered again.
These instructions and messages have default text which is listed here in italic.
These are the instructions that learners will see upon starting a test in VISION Learning Station. They must agree to the instructions before they start. Click the Preview button to see the text.
