How many work areas do you need?
Most of the time, when you make a new Analysis Work Area, it makes sense to link it to a new Objectives Work Area and a Programs Work Area. This is basically the expected structure that VISION Developer facilitates.
So, if you're on the Create new Work Areas dialog and wondering what to do:
•Type the title of the new Work Area in the field provided. •Check the boxes for all three types of work areas. •Click OK... … and you're done. VISION Developer will set up the work areas in a way that will make sense as you proceed through the project activities later on.

Remember that you can make as many Work Areas as you want. You can link each Analysis Work Area to its own new Objectives Work Area, or to an existing Objectives Work Area.
For example, let's say you have a project called "Maintenance Department Training". You decide to make separate work area for each maintenance job position: one for "Electrician", another for "Valve Mechanic", and so on.
•The usual practice, then, would be to link the Electrician Analysis Work Area to its own new Objectives Work Area, and then to its own new Programs Work Area. •Then you would do the same thing for Valve mechanic. Make a Valve Mechanic Analysis Work Area, and create an Objectives Work Area and a Program Work Area at the same time. |
