Edit an Organization's Hierarchy

Even if you have an organization in place, the structure might change such that you will need to edit the organization hierarchy.

To edit an organization hierarchy, follow these steps.

1.In the Administration area, click on the Organization tab. Click on the organization that you want to edit.

2.Click this link to see details about the organization node options.

3.To add a node, click on the node above where you want to put it and then click the Add Child button on the Selected Node menu (on the right).

4.If this is a position that will be assigned to one or more employees, check “Yes” next to the phrase “Is this a job position?”

5.Select the appropriate role from the Role drop-down list and, if needed, enter a User ID number.

6.Click the Create Node button.

7.To continue to create your hierarchy, click on the node over which you want the new node, and follow the same procedure.

8.You can also rearrange existing nodes with the arrow buttons next to the words "Selected Node."

TipMarking a hierarchy node as a "Job Position" will give you the ability to assign users, courses, and qualification cards to it. It is important that you mark any node that people fill as a "Job Position". However, an Organizer can inherit users from Job Positions above, though they may not have users, courses, or qual cards assigned to them.

TipIf a role is marked as a "Supervisor" users in this job position will be able to view qualification and training status reports for the users assigned to any subordinate job positions.
