VISION User Guide

The Main Menu appears across the top of every VISION screen. The menu options provided on the menu bar will change with the type of window that is active.

Main Menus

If there is no active window within VISION, the available Main Menu and Main Menu Toolbar options are:

Main Menu Toolbar Buttons Exclusive to VISION

Brief descriptions of the Main Menu toolbar buttons found only in VISION are listed below to help you use VISION with ease.

MM Open Workbench Workbench

Opens a Workbench. The various choices of Workbenches differ from each other in which hierarchy windows they include initially and in which advisory cue card they display. It is not crucial to pick the "right" Workbench from the menu, because you can make any Workbench look like any other Workbench by opening or closing its hierarchy windows yourself.

MM Generate Report Reports

Displays the Reports list. (Ctrl + R) The Reports are categorized as follows: Analysis, Design, Development, Cross References, and Questions and Tests.

MM Generate Doc Documents

Displays the Documents list. (Ctrl + D) The documents are categorized as follows:

Qualification: Qualification documents that can be used to qualify workers in the job setting.

Review Forms: Types of documents that can be distributed to others so that they can review, comment, and sign off on the outcome of a project activity.

Training: Training and reference documents can be generated for a selected training program unit.

Procedures: Procedure documents can be generated from your Job and Task Analysis data.

Management: Management documents will help you to quantify your database and manage the project. Reports in this category pertain to the status of project activities, total numbers of components to date, percentages and ratios, numbers of "missing" items and so on.

MM Search Search

Displays all of the search reports. (Ctrl + E) Searches are predefined scripts that you run in order to find different items in the database. When you select this activity, a window is displayed that shows all of the Search scripts, which are categorized as follows: Analysis, Design, Development, Cross References, and Questions and Tests.

MM Open Qual Cards Qual Cards

Displays the Qual Cards list. There, you can view, create, edit and delete qualification cards. A qualification card is a collection of tasks on which an employee qualifies using the VISION Learning Station.

MM Manage Tests Tests

Displays the Tests list. (Ctrl + T) You can quickly obtain a list of tests when you open the test search window. You can then perform the various test-related actions on the tests in the list: View, Edit, Generate test-related documents, and so on. You can also create new tests from the test search window.

MM Manage X-Ref Cross Reference Tables

Displays the list of cross reference tables.

MM FOCUS Website Focus Learning website

Connects to the FOCUS Learning website.

MM Context Help Context Sensitive Help

To learn more about any of the Workbench Toolbar buttons, click the Context Help button on the Main Menu toolbar and then click on any Workbench Toolbar button or menu item. You can also click your right mouse button on a toolbar button for help.

MM Privilages Your Privileges

View a list of the privileges that your account has in this project. Privileges will include what types of records you may view and edit.

Logged Project

This is the name of the project that you are currently working in. Click the drop-down menu button to open a different project.

Owning Project

This is the project that the active object is a part of. For example, a shared analysis hierarchy node might belong to a project other than the one you currently have open.
