There may be instances where you want to remove a branch from your hierarchy without actually deleting it. Perhaps you believe it will be reinserted into the hierarchy later. In this type of situation, you can move it to the Recycle Bin. For example, if you want to remove a task from an Analysis Hierarchy, and you think you may want to use it in another hierarchy later, you can detach or unlink the task and move it to the Recycle Bin. It will not be deleted from the database, but only removed from the hierarchy. Then, when you find a hierarchy location that you want to move it to, you can reattach the branch by dragging the task from the Recycle Bin into the hierarchy.
Items in the Recycle Bin list can be edited, deleted, or dragged out of the list and back into the hierarchy. If you delete a Recycle Bin item, it is gone for good.
An irregular condition can arise in which a node exists in the database, but is neither in the hierarchy nor in the Recycle Bin. Such nodes are known as “Orphans,” and there are search reports that can find them. For example, choose Search and then Search from the Main Menu, go to the Design tab, and run the "Objective Orphans search".
Do not confuse the Recycle Bin with the Holding Bin. These features are similar, but are accessible through different parts of the VISION Developer Module.
