You can edit the format and certain other parameters of reports and documents through the Report Generator interface. Usually that is left to the vendor or a specialist in your organization. That’s because reports are controlled by a report scripting language that is unique to VISION and takes some time to learn. To get to the Report Generator interface, follow these steps:
1.From the Main Menu, select Outcomes and then VISION Report or VISION Document.
2.Highlight the report or document that you want to edit, click the Edit button, and choose either Properties or Script.
3.While you can't edit a standard report or document, you can view its properties or script. Click Edit and then Properties to view the properties. All of the fields on the Report Editor screen will be grayed out. To view the script of a standard report, click Edit, and then Script. The script will be read-only.
a.For a custom report or document, you can both view and edit the properties and script. When you click Edit, and then Properties, the Report Editor window is enabled for editing and looks like the example below.
b.Likewise, when you click Edit and then Script for a custom report, you will be able to edit the report script.
4.Editing a script opens the window pictured below. Click the right mouse button in the window to use the edit menu, and click the Run button to run the script.
Remember that VISION does not allow you to edit the standard reports, but not even custom reports can be edited unless you have the appropriate security access to edit reports. It’s important to have a good understanding of the report scripting language before you attempt this activity.
VISION doesn’t allow you to edit the standard (black-titled) reports. However, you can make a copy of any standard report (by clicking the Copy button) and then edit the copy.
