For a Scenario question, you can have up to 50 sub-questions, but you cannot use another scenario question as a sub-question. The sub-questions are simply questions of the kind we have been describing. The scenario "question" is not truly a question itself; rather, it is a container used to group other questions together around a common scenario.

Tips for Creating Scenario Questions
Tips for entering scenario Questions in VISION
•Click the Properties button to view the properties of the selected sub-question. •The field showing the amount of points the selected sub-question is worth cannot be edited on the question page. •For the purpose of tests, VISION treats a scenario question as a single, indivisible unit. What this means is that when you select a scenario question to be on a test, all sub-questions will be tested. You cannot pick and choose which sub-questions will be tested. •You cannot share a sub-question with another scenario question. If you want a sub-question to appear in a different scenario question, you must recreate it. •You can have up to 50 sub-questions for any scenario. (One scenario question cannot serve as a sub-question for another scenario.) |
Characteristics of good Scenario Questions
A Scenario question has these characteristics:
•A scenario describing an event, situation, process, object, etc. The scenario may be supplemented with drawings, photographs, manuals, or other materials. •Instructions to the learner to answer a series of questions about the scenario. •Individual questions pertaining to the scenario that the learner must answer. These are the sub-questions. |
Example
